Blickachsen 11

Contemporary Sculpture in Bad Homburg and Frankfurt RheinMain

21 May - 1 October 2017
In collaboration with Museum Liaunig, Neuhaus, Austria

In 2017, with the eleventh edition of the "Blickachsen" sculpture biennale, we will be celebrating its twentieth anniversary.

It is a good moment to look back on the breathtaking development of the exhibition: from its first beginnings in 1997 in the Bad Homburg Kurpark through a period of rapid and progressive expansion both within the city and beyond, culminating in the establishment in 2013 of the Blickachsen Foundation to secure its long-term future. The Foundation now has overall responsibility for "Blickachsen", organizing the exhibitions in collaboration with the City of Bad Homburg, the Kur- und Kongreß-GmbH and the Administration of the Public Stately Homes and Gardens in Hesse.

I am of course delighted that the project has grown to be such a major event, enabling us to bring so many talented young artists together with leading names in modern sculpture to Bad Homburg and the Region.

I already look forward to "Blickachsen 11" in 2017.
