Municipal authorities of the City of Bad Homburg
When curator Christian Scheffel first placed contemporary art in the Bad Homburg Kurpark in 1997, he provoked an enormous response. Today, the Blickachsen Biennale attracts an international audience. Yet the effect is the same as it was more than 25 years ago: an appreciation and public discussion of sculpture.
For over 25 years Bad Homburg’s historic Kurpark, and later also its Schlosspark, have showcased the city as exhibition sites for this international artistic event. We are proud of this and look very much forward to welcoming guests from all over the world to Bad Homburg.
On behalf of the city I would like to thank all those involved, and particularly Christian Scheffel and this year’s partner museum, the Stiftung Insel Hombroich (Insel Hombroich Foundation) in Neuss, Germany, for their carefully considered choice of artworks and locations. My thanks, also, go to all supporters, without whom this exhibition would not have been possible. To all visitors I wish a stimulating encounter with contemporary art.
